What Does it Mean to Be "Hippie?"

Hello Humans! I thought I would share a little bit about my interpretation of the word, "hippie." Most of the time, it's paired with the words happy, peace, and love. The world thinks of being a "hippie" as being someone who dresses in floral patterns, tie dye, and clothes that flow. They wear flowers in their hair and can be found in nature, music festivals, and getting high. To me, being hippie isn't about what's on the outside, but the inside. Things like being so happy with your current self, that you don't care about how you look; being at such great peace with your soul that you love to share what you believe, know, do, and love with others; loving the world around you by looking deeper into things, like looking at the soul of a human instead of the outside, connecting the physics of water to the biology of a tree, the feeling of the sand beneath your bare feet. That's what the definition of "hippie" is missing, the love of one's self. More people need to be "hippie" and love themselves. Not conforming to society, not caring what the world thinks, because then we can get great leaders that will bring about a good change in the world. I am very happy to be among the hippies, because that means I love myself, which is fine by me. So come find me among the daisies and wildflowers, running through the grassy hills barefoot with a big smile on my face.

Just do as this book does and love yourself. Thanks to the Pewds for this groovy lesson. It's important to love yourself. Did I make my point? My point is to love yourself, because if you don't, who else will? Stay wild, flower child.
