Move Aside. There's A New Hero In Town.
Hello Humans! “Then listen, friend: Very few people on this crazy planet are lucky enough to have the advantages you and I have. That obligates us to use those advantages!” –Iron Man to Captain America. Man, I always hated Captain America, and now hearing that Iron Man told him that in the original Comics makes me hate him that much more. Captain American is stupid. He’s just a normal guy juiced on Steroids and America, and neither of those things are great. But when Captain America: Civil War, me and my friend couldn’t even bring up the topic, because we were both on opposite sides, and would start arguments in the middle of class about it. Anyways, for those of you who haven't figured it out yet, Iron Man is my favorite Comic-Book Hero. I find him the most relatable and realistic.
Back to the beginning quote, everyone has something that someone else doesn’t have. I’ve been told in my Patriarchal Blessing that it’s my mind of discernment and my heart of charity. So, of course I’m going to share those with the world. I feel obligated to use my gifts to help the world become a better place. Nobody is actually telling me I have to, but it’s something I just have always felt like I need to do. For Iron Man, it was saving the world from baddies. For me, it’s advancing the world scientifically while helping to better people’s lives. I want to help people see the world in a different light and be better educated, while also helping people who are sick or have disabilities get better, or live a more comfortable life.
One of the reasons I love Iron Man so much, is because he is what I strive to be. He’s a scientist who happened to break it big. I want to advance the world in science for good and be a hero to those I help. Iron Man is just a fantastic example of what I want to do with my life. And yes, while being a Billionaire, Genius, and Philanthropist would all be great, I’m talking about making “suits” that help people for the better. Whether that’s making a new and improved let, to a device that fix’s hearts, to a device that allows people to control electronics with brainwaves. I want to make other people with disabilities and health problems “Iron Men.” And in the mean-time, maybe I’ll find a way to make myself a super cool, flying machine, missile-launching suit. Except, I’ll paint mine green and blue. I’ll blend in with the sky better. So move aside Iron Man, there's a new string of Heroes in town. And these ones don't wear capes or fight aliens form space, but wear Lab Coats and fight terminal illnesses and disabilities. Stay wild, flower child.
