Allons-y!

Hello Humans! So, my new favorite television show is quite a nerdy one. Like so nerdy that I actually stayed away from it for forever, because I knew just how much nerdy I would be just from saying I watched an episode. And if you haven't guessed it by now, it's Doctor Who. Yes, the show about the alien who looks like a human with a weird metal stick that makes an annoying sound who travels in a blue police box through time and space. But oh, is it so much more than that! I currently am making my way through the few seasons with the 11th Doctor, and am loving him so far, but oh my goodness did the 10th Doctor steal my heart! Not only because of his super awesome style: nice suits with converse, but because of his personality. He is just a big goof-ball and hilarious! He reminds myself of me. And, his "catch-phrase" throughout his time as the Doctor is in French. It's "Allons-y," which means, "let's go," in French. Which is also totally like me. I'm always telling people to hurry up, and find it annoying to try to catch people up.

But the Doctor and his companions have taught me so many great lessons. The greatest being that no human is unimportant. It's been stated in three different ways throughout the three different Doctors, and with their four different companions, and also to the aliens they help along the way. From the 9th Doctor, "Who said you're not important?" and then the 10th, "There is no such thing as an ordinary human." And lastly, from the 11th, "I've never met anyone who wasn't important." All of his companions, at first, think that they're pretty much worthless. I mean, if you were swept into space, and had to save whole species, you might feel quite small all of a sudden. But the Doctor treats them, and really everyone, like they're the most important person in the Universe.

Another reason that I love Doctor Who, is because it shows space. I love seeing space. And yes, while this space is most likely computer generated, it's cool for an aspiring Physical Chemist who wants to research how subatomic particles effect the entire Universe, it's really awesome to think about.

I've also learned that you should always bring a banana to a party, bowties are cool, it's bigger on the inside, be your weird, quirky, and random self no matter what, and that time is not linear, but a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey... stuff. And the most important thing: Time is not the boss of me. Because time is only a measurement. Stay wild, flower child.
