Let Me Tell You A Story...
Hello Humans! So, first to start off with, there are times, and this happens to all of us, where we just feel like the world would be better off without us. We feel like we just exist, and would be best to donate our molecules and atoms back to the Universe to recycle them into new beings. We see others being very successful, we see other's lives seamlessly fall into place, and we see others at their best. I've lately been feeling this way again, for the most part. It's so very true that we are ourselves worst critic. We wee the absolute worst in ourselves and our failures because we are with ourselves all the time. I've had to remind myself of what the 11th Doctor told a little girl on a far-a-way planet, who was about to sacrifice herself to save her people, many many times this week.
"Hey, do you mind if I tell you a story? One you might not have heard. All the elements in your body were forged many, many millions of years ago in the heart of a far away star that exploded and died. That explosion scattered those elements across the designations of deep space; after so, so many millions of years, these elements came together to form new stars and new planets and on and on it went. The elements came together and burst apart, forming shoes and ships and ceiling wax and cabbages and kings until eventually they came together to make you. You are unique in the universe. There is only one you, and there will never be another. Getting ride of that existence isn't a sacrifice, it is a waste."
I actually didn't love the 11th Doctor at first, but once I reached the point where he said this, He became tied with the 10th Doctor in the spot for "most favorite Doctor." The way he literally used science to prove that we are all unique was just so eloquently put and touched my heart deeply. It was definitely something that I needed to hear, and still need to hear.
So the next time you feel like you're a waste of space, or that everyone else is better than you, just remember, you are unique to the Universe. There is only one you, and there will never be another. Stay wild, flower child.
