Continual Learning and Growth

Hello Humans! So something that I've always wanted to do is to be able to speak many different languages so that I can learn of other's cultures, speak to others, learn more, and expand my brain and my soul. I have been speaking French pretty well for the past 6 years (Holy cow! Has it really been that long since my first French class? I'm starting to feel old!) and have gotten to the point where I could carry a pretty good conversation. I'm still working at becoming fluent in it, but also in the process, I am learning, via DuoLingo, how to speak Japanese, Italian, Russian, and Greek. I couldn't just pick one, so I am working on all five. Hopefully my brain will be able to handle them all. And if not, I can always come back to them at a later date. So, that is what I am currently working on when I'm not at the Beach, watching YouTube and Netflix, or studying Science. When I get good enough at them, I'll definitely make a post in the new languages that I have learned! I especially love the Japanese, Russian, and Greek because they all have different characters for their letters. It's a little bit of an adjustment learning to assign different sounds to different characters, but I've been doing a lot better than I thought I would. Greek has probably been the easiest, because I've had a TON of exposure to the characters already in Science. We use things like α,β,λ,ω,υ,γ,ρ,ε,σ,Σ,δ,Δ,θ,π, and many other characters to represent either different math functions, or different variables on a daily basis. Knowing the names has helped me learn the sound a lot easier. And plus, it looks SUPER cool. Take for instance Alpha: Αλφα. It just looks and sounds so much prettier!

I hope that you all take on the challenge and learn a new language! #notsponsored, but I absolutely LOVE DuoLingo, because you can use it on both your phone, and your computer, so you can take it with you wherever you go! You can learn a language while sitting and waiting for a class to start, a doctor's appointment, or even on your lunch break. And they make it super fun and easy. You learn so much without even realizing how far you've come.

My hope with my future is to never stop learning. I've learned as I've become a student at a University, that I actually really love to learn. Whether it's a new skill, a new language, or science and mathematics, I just love the ability that my brain has to learn things so quickly and effortlessly. The brain is really an amazing thing. I love to challenge myself, like taking on 5 languages at the same exact time. It's my hope that everyone will find the love to keep learning, no matter what it is, as long as you keep improving yourself through learning. Stay wild, flower child.
