The Greatest Mother Flippin' Guy
Hello Humans! Today I'm going to introduce you all to the man I strive to be like, besides Iron Man, Rutherford, or my Savior. He runs YouTube channel, and is dubbed "the King of YouTube." He has 57 million subscribers to his channel, and it just keeps growing. I am really grateful that I get to call myself a member of his 50 Mill Club. His name, is PewDiePie. He also goes by the Pewds, Swedish Meatball, Swistian, and Felix. While there are parts of his channel that are not totally in line with things that I believe, I love watching his content not only for it's entertainment purposes, but because overall it opens my mind to new ideas. Some of these ideas I, as well as 57 Million other viewers also believe in. Otherwise, we wouldn't be sticking around. Pewds is very much like me, where we both have strong options on things and like to tell them to people when the moment arises.
Pewds has tried to point out things in our lives that are ridiculous, and things that the older generations still believe very strongly in. One of these things is that the older generations are still trying to keep their out-of-time material going. Things such as the Wall Street Journal, cable television, magazines and newspapers are readily disappearing from this new online world. It took me a while to want to become a part of the new online community that the world now is, but now that I'm on, I'm glad I did. He points out that they will try to destroy the new media outlet, YouTube, just to keep their business running. For example, recently the Wall Street Journal started a really big "story" on PewDiePie, saying that he was a Nazi, which was totally ridiculous. At first, Pewds took it as a big joke, but then it blew out of proportion. Every other old-generation media outlet attached onto this story and in the end Pewds lost his contract with Disney, and his "Scare PewDiePie" season 2 was canceled. In the end, he recorded a video addressing these issues. It was really eye-opening to see the King of YouTube's opinion on what had happened. His main point was that WSJ was digging very deep into his videos, which was very true, the second was that he was thinking of all the people who put so much time, effort, and money into "Scare PewDiePie" season 2, but who were no longer getting paid because it never aired on YouTube Red. Lastly, he addressed the point that no matter how hard the media tried to pull him and his channel down, it wouldn't happen. His fan base is too big and loyal. 50 Million people of all ages watching him every day for 10:01 minutes a day wasn't going anywhere. We ended up rallying around him, letting him know that we were there for him. After his video to the Media, he then made a second video thanking us Bros, Sister Fisters, and Squad Fam members for our support.
Since then, he's pointed out that the Media only gets paid for "clicks." This means that they don't have to have a good article, or even an article at all, they just have to have a strong channel that will get you to click on their article. He's made many videos on this, showing the rising generation what these dying Media outlets have to do to stay in business.
Another thing that I've loved that the Pewds has pointed out is how no one cares about the millions of dollars that he's helped to raise for charity. They only care about how he's made his billions and millions, and how much billions and millions he has. He has said multiple times that he's never in it for the money, but he's done it because he loves making videos. It's what he loves to do. That's something that has really hit me hard as I've been looking at what I want to do for a living in the near future.
So, these are just some of his opinions, but also facts, that he has expressed to us Bros. I have many other strong opinions, some on the Media and the whole Money issue in our society along those same lines as well. I normally don't express them because I don't want to offend anyone, and they're very unpopular opinions. Especially over here in America.
Some other things I have very much in common with Pewds is my sense of humor. I laugh at most things. This includes awkward, sad, dark, actually funny, dirty, memes, and pretty much everything else. So does Pewds. His "Ya Laugh, Ya Lose," challenges pretty much just include him giggling quietly to himself, and then being like, "That one doesn't count!" So he doesn't lose his own challenge. We also react in the same way to most things, totally over reacting for a comedic affect. And sometimes it doesn't work, which makes it even more funny.
We both think we're the best. Yes, he is the King of YouTube, and he knows that. He makes fun of others, to an extent, but not to the point of hurt. That's very much like me. I think I'm the best, and call people "stupid" and "idiot" literally all the time, but I never go close to the point of hurting someone.
So, I guess I'll never be the King of YouTube, but I will be the Queen of Science very soon. I hope to become a huge and needed influence that the world needs. I hope that my opinions and discoveries help open the eyes of the world, just like Pewds has. Until that day happens, I will be happy to call myself a part of the 50 Mill Club. Stay wild, flower child.
