I don't think I will ever have a holiday that I like more than Christmas. When I was little, I liked it because Santa came and I got tons of presents. I got to have parties with my family and friends and eat so much candy. Now, I like it for better reasons. Yes the presents and the parties are great, but there is so much more to this holiday. We get to spend time with close friends and family. I cannot wait to go home and have so much fun with my family. Singing Christmas songs as loud and as off-key as we can in the car, putting mountains of whipped cream on our hot chocolate, sleeping out by the Christmas Tree, watching all of the great Christmas Movies, including Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Island of Misfit Toys, going to Temple Square and looking at all the lights, playing in the snow with our doggie, going sledding in the snow, making Christmas candy, having FNAF parties with the cousins, going ugly Christmas Sweater shopping with my siblings, and seeing old friends. As I've moved away form home, the meaning of Christmas has been more around seeing family. I miss them dearly and cannot wait to see them again. Only two and a half weeks, or 19 days left until I'm home again.

One thing that my mom has started recently is talking about the people from the Nativity. It's one of my favorite parts of our new Christmas traditions. We all gather around the Christmas Tree at night, in our pajamas with our blankets and pillows, and me holding my doggie, and we talk about the amazing people and events that occurred that night so many years ago. After the first night, she assigns every member of the family a different member of the nativity, so that we get a chance to add our insights to the nativity. It's easily become one of my favorite Christmas traditions.

I also hope to make this a tradition, but me and my aunts and Nana are all going to the temple a couple times over the Christmas break! I hope that we can go maybe once a week, and if not, then I'll just go and hopefully drag my mom and dad along. Because what better way to celebrate Christmas than by serving our ancestors who didn't get a chance to hear the gospel while on the Earth, and at the same time, getting closer to the Lord in His house. I can't wait for my time in the temple in Utah.

All in all, I just can't wait until Christmas Break. I can't wait to be done with finals on December 13th, and then hop onto my plane a few hours later, then wake up in Utah. I can't wait to eat amazing food, sing Christmas songs too loud, put my dreads in, play in the snow, party too hard with my family, see old friends, and celebrate my Savior. Stay wild, flower child.
